7.30 Uhr Messe. 17.30 Uhr Rosenkranz und Litanei von Santa Rosalia. 18.00 Uhr Messe unter dem Vorsitz Seiner Exzellenz Monsignore Luigi Renna, Erzbischof von Catania, mit der Anwesenheit der Reliquie des Schleiers der Heiligen Agatha. Das in der Diözese anwesende geweihte Leben ist herzlich eingeladen, an der Feier teilzunehmen. Die Feier wird vom S. Sebastiano-Chor der Stadtpolizei unter der Leitung von Maestro Serafina Sandovalli belebt. 21.00 Uhr Eucharistische Anbetung in der Kathedrale, moderiert vom Erzbischöflichen Seminar unter Beteiligung der Laiengruppen, -bewegungen und -vereine der Stadt. Den Vorsitz führt der Rektor des Seminars, Don Antonio Mancuso. Für die persönliche Verehrung der Reliquien der Heiligen Rosalia bleibt die Kathedrale bis 23.00 Uhr geöffnet.

+ Dal Vangelo secondo Marco (Mc 6,7-13) In quel tempo, Gesù chiamò a sé i Dodici e prese a mandarli a due a due e dava loro potere sugli spiriti impuri. E ordinò loro di non prendere per il viaggio nient’altro che un bastone: né pane, né sacca, né denaro nella cintura; ma di calzare sandali e di non portare due tuniche. E diceva loro: «Dovunque entriate in una casa, rimanetevi finché non sarete partiti di lì. Se in qualche luogo non vi accogliessero e non vi ascoltassero, andatevene e scuotete la polvere sotto i vostri piedi come testimonianza per loro».
