Möge die Jungfrau Maria, Mutter der Hoffnung, für uns eintreten und uns auf unserem Weg durch die Fastenzeit begleiten. Die Kirche, Mutter und Lehrerin, lädt uns ein, unsere Herzen vorzubereiten und uns der Gnade Gottes zu öffnen, um mit großer Freude den österlichen Triumph Christi, des Herrn, über Sünde und Tod feiern zu können. Das Gemälde von Velasco, das der Verherrlichung der Heiligen Christina gewidmet ist, wurde nach der Restaurierung an einen anderen Ort gebracht

Das Gemälde mit der Darstellung der Glorifizierung der Heiligen Christina von Giuseppe Velasco wurde verlegt. Die Restaurierungsarbeiten wurden von den Restauratorinnen Rita Agnello und Giuditta Ermio durchgeführt und betrafen das Gemälde, den vergoldeten Holzrahmen und den Gipsrahmen der Kapelle Santa Cristina. Bei der Restaurierung, insbesondere der Leinwand, wurde eine veränderte und besonders vergilbte Filmschicht entfernt, welche die leuchtenden Farben der künstlerischen Technik des Malers verdeckte. Darüber hinaus wurden zahlreiche Retuschen vorgenommen, die nicht dem Originalgemälde entsprachen und auf frühere Eingriffe zurückzuführen sind. Durch den Restaurierungsvorgang konnten die bildliche Feinheit der Drapierungen und die anatomischen Elemente der Figuren wiederhergestellt werden, wobei die Grundsätze der Erkennbarkeit und Reversibilität der Restaurierung beachtet wurden.

The painting dedicated to the glorification of St. Cristina by Velasco has been relocated after restoration

The painting depicting the Glorification of St. Cristina by Giuseppe Velasco has been relocated. The restoration work was carried out by restorers Rita Agnello and Giuditta Ermio, and involved the painting, the gilded wooden frame and the plaster frame of the Chapel of Santa Cristina. The restoration, in particular that on the canvas, involved the removal of an altered and particularly yellowed film layer that obscured the bright colors of the painter’s artistic technique, in addition to the numerous retouches that did not conform to the original painting and date back to previous interventions.
