SATURDAY 21 AND 28 MAY 2022 EVENING VISIT OF THE CATHEDRAL AND THE DIOCESAN MUSEUM

We are waiting for you on Saturday evening from 20.30 to 00.00 (last admission 23.30) for the evening visit of the Monumental Complex of the Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum of Palermo and the rooms of the Bishops.

From the roofs of the Cathedral, you can admire the city of Palermo from above with its splendid landscape and monumental riches, and closely observe the architectural and artistic elements of the external walls of the Cathedral.
It is also possible to visit:
the treasure with the crown of Constance of Aragon, wife of Frederick II;
the crypt, where the tombs of the Archbishops of Palermo are kept;
the Royal Tombs with the mortal remains of the emperors Frederick II, of the parents Henry VI and Constance D’Altavilla, of his wife Costanza D’Aragona and of his grandfather Roger II, founder of the Kingdom of Sicily;
the basement and the Chapel of the Beneficiaries.

At the Diocesan Museum there are 27 rooms on the three levels of the Archbishop’s Palace in via Matteo Bonello, 2, adjacent to the Cathedral, which exhibit about 300 works including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts from the twelfth to the nineteenth century.

Tickets can be purchased on the day of the visit at the ticket offices of the Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum, or online on the website https://www.ticket-shop-cattedraledipalermo.it

Tickets purchased online can be used on any opening day of the Monumental Complex of the Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum and do not expire until used.

NO RESERVATION IS AVAILABLE FOR THE VISIT

The visit of the Monumental Complex of the Cathedral is not allowed for heart patients, those suffering from claustrophobia, dizziness, psychophysical disabilities and anxiety attacks; in addition, comfortable shoes are recommended.
