At the same time as the ongoing restoration of the Chapel of Santa Rosalia, the restoration of all the silver reliquary urns with wooden bases contained within the Chapel of the Relics of the Cathedral of Palermo is about to begin, which have not been worked on for over a hundred years. Restaurierung der Reliquienbögen in der Reliquienkapelle der Kathedrale von Palermo

Gleichzeitig mit der laufenden Restaurierung der Kapelle Santa Rosalia beginnt in Kürze die Restaurierung aller silbernen Reliquienurnen mit Holzsockeln in der Reliquienkapelle der Kathedrale von Palermo, an denen seit über hundert Jahren nicht mehr gearbeitet wurde. Zu den Arbeiten gehört die Restaurierung der geschnitzten, bemalten, vergoldeten und versilberten Holzstrukturen, die die silbernen Sockel tragen, in denen die Reliquien der geliebten Heiligen und Märtyrer von Palermo und Sizilien aufbewahrt werden. Diese Schatullen zeichnen sich durch Metallelemente aus geschmolzenem, geprägtem und gemeißeltem Silber aus. Restauro delle Arche Reliquiarie conservate nella Cappella delle Reliquie della Cattedrale di Palermo

Contemporaneamente al restauro in corso della Cappella di Santa Rosalia sta per avere inizio l’intervento di restauro di tutte le urne reliquiarie argentee con basamento ligneo contenute all’interno della Cappella delle Reliquie della Cattedrale di Palermo sulle quali non si interveniva da più di cento anni. Le operazioni prevedono il restauro delle strutture lignee intagliate, dipinte, dorate e argentate che sorreggono le basi argentee contenenti le reliquie degli amati santi e martiri palermitani e siciliani, casse caratterizzate da elementi metallici in argento fuso, sbalzato e cesellato.
