Area monumentale

E’ data da ambienti della Cattedrale riconducibili soprattutto al tempo dei normanni (vi si accede con il pagamento di un ticket) ne fanno parte: Pozzo della Maddalena Tesoro della Cattedrale dove insieme ai preziosi arredi liturgici sono custoditi la Corona imperiale trovata nella tomba di Costanza D’Aragona insieme a degli anelli, fregi del manto di Federico II. Cripta dove sono custodite le tombe degli Arcivescovi di Palermo tra cui quella di Gualtiero Offamilio a cui si deve la costruzione dell’attuale tempio, modificato da Ferdinando Fuga alla fine del XVIII sec.
