Sunday, November 28, 2021 – 1st Sunday of Advent
From the Gospel according to Luke (21.25-28.34-36)
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
“There will be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars, and on earth the anguish of peoples anxious about the roar of the sea and the waves, while men will die for fear and for the expectation of what will happen on earth. The powers of the heavens will in fact be upset.
Then they will see the Son of man coming on a cloud with great power and glory.
When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift your head, for your deliverance is near.
Be careful to yourselves, that your hearts do not become burdened in dissipations, drunkenness and worries of life and that that day does not fall upon you all of a sudden; in fact, like a snare it will fall upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Stay awake at all times praying, so that you may have the strength to escape from everything that is about to happen, and to appear before the Son of man “.
