November 17, 2024 – XXXIII Sunday in Ordinary Time
+ From the Gospel according to Mark (13:24-32)
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “In those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
Then they will see the Son of Man coming on clouds with great power and glory. He will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you too, when you see these things happening, know that he is near, at the doors.
Truly, I say to you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.”
