November 10, 2024 – XXXII Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ From the Gospel according to Mark (12:28-34)

At that time, Jesus [in the temple] said to the crowds in his teaching: “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and to be greeted respectfully in the marketplaces, and to have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and make long prayers for their appearance. These are the ones who will receive the greater condemnation.”
He sat down opposite the treasury and watched the crowd putting coins into the treasury. Many rich people put in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two small coins, which make a penny.
So he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all the others. For they all put in out of their abundance. But she, out of her poverty, has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”
