Great satisfaction in learning that the Cathedral of Palermo, in a Top 15 most popular and visited cathedrals in Italy, is the third after those of Milan and Florence.
I can affirm that all the initiatives aimed at valorising the monument, carried out in these years of care, are the result of teamwork and day-long commitment so that visitors could enjoy and appreciate what our fathers built and built also with spirit of faith.
If it is true, what Dostoevsky wrote, that beauty will save the world, I hope that those who enter the Cathedral Church, admiring its beauty, take with them the memory of a building, the fruit of a multiplicity of different cultures and religions and commit themselves to build a world based on brotherhood and peace.
I dedicate this good result to the Middle East so that in the Land of Jesus the use of weapons can soon cease and the peace that Jesus himself announced and preached in that land can once again shine.
