Sunday 1 October 2023 – XXVI of Ordinary Time
+ From the Gospel according to Matthew (21, 28 – 32)
At that time, Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people: «What do you think? A man had two sons. He turned to the first and said: “Son, go work in the vineyard today.” And he replied: “I don’t want to.” But then he regretted it and went there. He turned to the second and said the same. And he replied, “Yes, sir.” But he didn’t go. Which of the two carried out the father’s will?”. They replied: “The first.”
And Jesus said to them: «Truly I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are passing you by in the kingdom of God. For John came to you on the path of righteousness, and you did not believe him; the tax collectors and prostitutes believed him instead. You, on the contrary, saw these things, but then you did not even repent enough to believe him.”
Word of the Lord.
