The Cathedral of Palermo houses the painting of the Madonna della Milicia

On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September the Cathedral welcomes the painting of the Madonna della Milicia.
We are all invited to take part in these events born on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the Madonna della Milicia Sanctuary Parish

SATURDAY 16 SEPTEMBER
– 12.30 pm Departure of the icon of the Madonna from the port of Porticello.
– 2.30 pm Reception of the icon of the Madonna della Milicia at the ancient port of Cala in Palermo.
– 3.00 pm Procession from Porta Felice along Corso Vittorio Emanuele to the Cathedral.
– 5.00 pm Holy Mass in the Cathedral presided over by the Archbishop of Palermo H.E.R. Mons. Corrado Loreӧce.

SUNDAY 17 SEPTEMBER
– 8.45am Holy Mass in the Cathedral with the brotherhoods, groups, movements and faithful of the Maria SS parishes. Assunta – Cathedral, S. Ippolito, S. Stanislao, S. Giuseppe Cafasso and S. Nicolò all’Alberghiera.
– 11.00am Holy Mass in the Cathedral presided over by Don Arnaldo Riggi sdb, diocesan secretary of the CISM with the participation of the Consecrated Life of the City.
– 5.00 pm Visit of the Altavillese community to the Madonna dei Sette Dolori at Guilla (Capo).- 6.00 pm Holy Mass in the Cathedral presided over by Mons. Filippo Sarullo.
– 7.30 pm Departure of the icon of the Madonna from the Cathedral for Altavilla Milicia
