+ From the Gospel according to Matthew (5, 13 – 16)

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
«You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavour, with what will it be salted? It serves no purpose other than to be thrown away and trampled on by people.
You are the light of the world; A city that stands on a mountain cannot remain hidden, nor is a lamp lit to place it under a bushel, but on the candelabrum, and thus it sheds light on all who are in the house. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
