+ From the Gospel according to Luke (18:1-8)

At that time, Jesus told his disciples a parable about the need to pray always and not lose heart:
“In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’

For a while he was unwilling, but then he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will grant her justice, so that she will not wear me out by her continual coming.'”

And the Lord said to them, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. Will not God grant justice to his elect, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long for them? I tell you, he will grant them justice speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?
