March 2, 2025 – Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ From the Gospel according to Luke (6:39-45)

At that time, Jesus told his disciples a parable:
“Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a ditch? A disciple is not above his teacher; but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.
Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the log from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
No good tree produces bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree produce good fruit. For every tree is known by its fruit. Men do not pick figs from thorns, nor gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man brings forth good things from the good treasure of his heart; and an evil man brings forth evil things from the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks.
