PILGRIMAGES TO THE CATHEDRAL IN THE ROSALIAN JUBILEE
During the fourth centenary of the discovery of the body of
S. Rosalia, on the proposal of the Diocesan Committee, the pilgrimages of the six vicariates will take place in the Cathedral for the veneration of the relics of Santa Rosalia and the Eucharistic Concelebration presided over by the Archbishop, mons. Corrado Lorefice.
The appointment, for each date, is at 6.00 pm near Porta Nuova. From there there will be a short procession to the Cathedral. Here, at the end of the Celebration, the Archbishop will entrust the reliquaries of St. Rosalia to the episcopal vicars which, in the weeks following the pilgrimage, will be housed in the parishes
according to the calendar that will be prepared by the vicars and coordinating parish priests and disseminated via diocesan communication channels.
THE DATE FOR THE PILGRIMAGE OF THE SECOND VICARIATE, TO WHICH THE PASTORAL AREA OF THE CATHEDRAL BELONGS, IS FEBRUARY 9
Here are the dates of all the pilgrimages:
● 9 FEBRUARY 2024 for the 1st and 2nd vicariate
● 10 APRIL 2024 for the III and IV vicariate
● 29 MAY 2024 for the V and VI vicariate
Every Christian community of the Archdiocese – and all the faithful – are warmly invited to take part in the pilgrimages to the Cathedral and in the initiatives that will be promoted in the parishes on the days in which they will host the sacred relics of Santuzza.
