Merry Christmas

Lord Jesus, we admire you here, child
and defenseless, between your father and your mother.
Your Christmas, every year, reminds us that we are you
made like us, to be for everyone:
women and men of good will.

We pray for the world, unfortunately
afflicted by the plague of war,
We pray for all the children
innocent victims of these brutal massacres.
How can we sing ”PEACE ON EARTH”
if even in the lands where you were born, died
and resurrected this peace is not there?

We also ask you
for our land of Sicily
and for our Palermo.
We ask you for intercession
of Santa Rosalia,
”Pilgrim of Hope”
to whom we entrust ours
plea:
that our belonging
May he always help us to Christ
more brothers and sisters,
thus freeing ourselves from
sores and plagues that
they still plague us.
