Sunday 16 October 2022 – XXIX in Ordinary Time
+ From the Gospel according to Luke (18, 1 – 8)
At that time, Jesus told his disciples a parable about the need to pray always, without ever getting tired:
“A judge lived in a city, who did not fear God or regard anyone. In that city there was also a widow, who came to him and said to him: “Do me justice against my adversary”.
For some time he did not want to; but then he said to himself: “Even if I don’t fear God and have no regard for anyone, since this widow bothers me so much, she’ll do her justice so that she doesn’t come constantly to bother me.”
And the Lord added: «Listen to what the dishonest judge says. And will God not do justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he make them wait a long time? I tell you that he will do them justice promptly. But the Son of man, when he comes, will he find faith on earth? ”
Word of the Lord.
