+ From the Gospel according to Luke (16, 1-13)

At that time, Jesus said to the disciples:
‘A rich man had an administrator, and he was accused before him of squandering his possessions. He called him and said, “What do I hear about you? Be aware of your administration, because you will no longer be able to administer ”.
The administrator said to himself: “What will I do, now that my master takes away the administration from me? Hoe, I don’t have the strength; beg, I’m ashamed. I know what I will do so that, when I have been removed from the administration, there will be someone to welcome me into his house “.
He called his master’s debtors one by one and said to the first: “How much do you owe my master?”. He replied: “One hundred barrels of oil”. He said to him, “Take your receipt, sit down immediately and write fifty.” Then he said to another: “How much do you owe?”. He replied: “One hundred measures of grain.” He said to him, “Take your receipt and write eighty.”
The master praised that dishonest administrator, because he had acted with shrewdness. The children of this world, in fact, are more shrewd towards their peers than the children of light.
Well, I tell you: make friends with dishonest wealth, so that, when this is lacking, they will welcome you into the eternal abodes.
Whoever is faithful in small matters is also faithful in important things; and whoever is dishonest in minor matters is also dishonest in important matters. So if you have not been faithful in dishonest wealth, who will entrust the real one to you? And if you have not been faithful in the wealth of others, who will give you yours?
No servant can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or he will become attached to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth ».

Word of the Lord.
