Sunday 20 February 2022 – VII of Ordinary Time

From the Gospel according to Luke (Lk 6: 27-38)

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
«To you who listen, I say: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly. To anyone who hits you on the cheek, offer the other too; from whoever tears your cloak, do not refuse even the tunic. Give to anyone who asks you, and to those who take your things, don’t ask them back.
And as you want men to do to you, so you also do to them. If you love those who love you, what gratitude is due to you? Sinners also love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what gratitude is due to you? Even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those you hope to receive, what gratitude is due to you? Sinners also lend to sinners to receive as much. Instead, love your enemies, do good and lend without hoping for anything, and your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, as your Father is merciful.
Do not judge and you will not be judged; do not condemn and you will not be condemned; forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and it will be given to you: a good measure, pressed, filled and overflowing, will be poured into your womb, because with the measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you in return “.
