Sunday 26 December 2021 – HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH

From the Gospel according to Luke (2: 41-52)

Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem every year for the Passover feast. When he was twelve, they went up there according to the custom of the feast. But, when the days passed, while they were resuming their way back, the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem, without his parents noticing. Believing that he was in the party, they traveled for a day, and then set about looking for him among relatives and acquaintances; not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to seek him.
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, while he listened to them and questioned them. And all those who heard him were filled with amazement at his intelligence and his answers.
When they saw him they were amazed, and his mother said to him: «Son, why did you do this to us? Behold, your father and I, anxious, were looking for you ». And he answered them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must take care of the things of my Father? ». But they did not understand what he had told them.
So he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was subject to them. His mother kept all these things in his heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom, age and grace before God and men.
